Why the Cities Joined the Licensing Program
• To bring your dog home to you faster.
• To allow tracking of dangerous and aggressive dogs throughout the participating jurisdictions and address concerns about such dogs without adopting bans on breeds.
• To help fund a new, urgently needed facility for Table Mountain Animal Center, the temporary safe haven for lost, abandoned and relinquished animals for the participating jurisdictions.
• To encourage responsible dog ownership and to enhance public health and safety.
How To Get A License
• Visit http://animalcontrol.jeffco.us to print a registration form.
• Visit the South Precinct located at 8101 Shaffer parkway to pick up a registration form.
• Visit the Table Mountain Animal Center at 4105 Youngfield Service Road to pick up a registration form.
• Contact your veterinarian.
Be Sure To Include
• Your name, address, phone numbers and emergency contact information
• Enclose a copy of the current rabies vaccination and spay/neuter certificate along with your check for the appropriate fee as listed on the form.
You will receive the license in the mail in a few weeks. The license is good for one year, and owners will receive a friendly reminder to renew the license each year. It this is a renewal you won’t receive a new tag unless yours is lost or unreadable.
