As part of the Landscape Master Plan, there are proposed areas throughout the Valley and North Ranch where Ken-Caryl Ranch can reduce water usage through turf reduction. Please see the Landscape Water Conservation page for details.
As part of the Bond Projects, Ken-Caryl Ranch updated Heirloom Park, which is located off of Club Drive and Mountain Oak in the Valley. The renovated park includes a new nature-themed playground, irrigation system, and landscaping.
As part of the Bond Projects, Ken-Caryl Ranch updated Saddlewood Park, which is located at 12177 Rabbit Ears Pass in the Plains.
Dakota Lodge Park and Landscaping
The Atkinson Design Group created a park plan for Dakota Lodge Park to have multiple demonstration gardens, different types of turf, outdoor classrooms and a new playground. The new playground layout will create space for equipment for multiple age groups and better support the usage of the park. The playground renovation is scheduled for spring 2017.

A Dakota Lodge Focus Group was formed to look at concerns by some residents regarding the use of the facility and park. The group met several times in the fall of 2016, and here is a summary of the findings:
Several new community entrance and directional signs have been installed throughout Ken-Caryl Ranch. The signs include the island at the entrance to the Valley, the entrance to the Ranch on Simms between Chatfield High School and the King Soopers Center, on Ken Caryl Ave. near the intersection of Continental Divide Road, at the corner of S. Valley Road and Valley Parkway, on the corner of Club Drive and S. Valley Road, at the Ranch House entrance, at the Equestrian Center/Dakota Lodge entrance, a directional sign at the intersection of Ken Caryl Ave and S. Valley Road, and one more just before the Valley Parkway/North Ranch fork.
