JOB TITLE: Communications Lead – Website and Advertising
REPORTS TO: General Manager, KCRMA
COMPENSATION: $24-$29 per hour
CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time, Non-Exempt (30-35 hours per week)

Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association employees’ eligibility for benefits varies by employment classification. Full-time employees receive healthcare benefits. POSITION SUMMARY:
Work in partnership with the Communications Manager and Master Association (MA) and Metropolitan District (MD) staff to determine and execute communications and administrative efforts for the Ken-Caryl Ranch community. This position will assist in daily communications and operations for both organizations, including managing advertising for the Life at Ken-Caryl newspaper, assisting with content writing and editing, managing and updating the Ken-Caryl website, managing community events as assigned, and performing administrative duties to supplement and support MA/MD communications directives.
HOURS:
The position would require you to work an average of 30-35 hours per week. Position is primarily in-person at the Ken-Caryl Ranch House, with flexibility to work from home as approved by KCRMA General Manager.
POSITION SUMMARY:
• Manage and make updates to the Ken-Caryl website, including reviewing, editing, and posting information and creating and processing intake forms.
• Manage advertising for the Life at Ken-Caryl newspaper, including solicitations, scheduling, contracts, content coordination, and billing.
• Proofread, edit, and revise communications copy for grammar, structure, and factual/contextual mistakes.
• Work with members of Master Association, and Metropolitan District staff to identify, develop, and implement ideas to enhance communication with the community.
• Assist, when necessary, with Ken-Caryl social media presence, including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Next Door.
• Organize the annual Barn Brew Ha event and assist with other events as needed.
• Assist with administrative tasks and meeting logistics facilitation at monthly Board or Committee Meetings, including FYI Packets, technology/zoom, meeting summaries, and meeting minutes.
• Provide administrative support to the General Manager of the KCRMA.
• Assist with the creation and implementation of community surveys and micro-surveys.
• Assist with other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Website updates and management including design enhancements and evolution.
• Advertising management for Life at Ken-Caryl newspaper advertisers.
• Administrative duties such as, timekeeping, updating status reports and SMART goals, and otherwise assigned by the General Manager.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree preferred in English, Journalism, Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Public Affairs, or related field.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Outstanding organizational and time management skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Two to four years of professional experience in public relations, marketing, journalism, or other fields involving the preparation and distribution of public information materials.
• Experience with website content management software and maintenance
• Experience with social media, including Facebook, Instagram, Next Door, and Twitter.
• Experience with virtual meeting software such as Zoom and Microsoft Teams.
• Proficiency in writing and editing skills to include spelling, grammar and punctuation.
• Ability to effectively meet and work with the public and handle stressful situations.
• Occasional availability to work outside normal work hours for special events, social media monitoring, or meetings.
• Ability to successfully complete a background check including but not limited to criminal history search is required.
WORK AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires work in a variety of locations and conditions, including but not limited to an office environment, event locations and various facilities under the Association.
Working Environment
1. Work in an office environment.
2. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, supplies, office machinery, etc.
3. Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a printer, copier and scanner.
4. Use of sensory activities, such as talking, seeing, hearing, smelling, feeling (identifying objects by touch), depth perception and color vision will be required frequently.
Physical Requirements
1. Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
2. The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, supplies, office machinery, etc.
3. Occasionally moves boxes weighing up to 20 pounds across office for various needs.
4. Have ability to stand, walk, sit, kneel, stoop, bend, lift, squat, push, pull, crawl, jump, slide, climb, pinch, grip, reach overhead, reach away from body, and perform repetitive motions.
5. Although not typically required, be able to work evenings, holidays, and weekends as needed.
