Joint Study Session Feb. 4 Meeting Summary
On Feb. 4, the Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association and Metropolitan District Boards held a Joint Study Session and discussed the following topics:
- A resident submitted a concern via email regarding off-leash dogs in irrigated park areas such as North Ranch Park. Currently, staff does not patrol irrigated park areas, and enforcement for off-leash dogs is deferred to Jefferson County Animal Control. The Boards would like staff to increase educational efforts around off-leash dog rules, potentially partner with Animal Control, and proactively approach some park users with educational information.
- Staff reported on Ranch House Pool construction progress. Good weather in January provided catch-up time for the snow delays experienced in November and December. The concrete pool floor was scheduled to be poured on Feb. 4, but the recent snowstorm and cold temperatures have caused temporary delays. Crews are working in the snow to prepare the site for concrete once weather allows.
- District Manager Traci Wieland reported she was selected to participate in a Leadership Academy for the Special District Association.
- Master Association Executive Director Victoria DeSair reminded everyone about the upcoming Master Association election. She also reported that North American Development Group, which is the company under contract to purchase land for new home development in the Plains, extended their due diligence deadline to Feb. 21. They will make a decision by Feb. 21 regarding whether or not they will move forward with the land purchase.
