Metropolitan District April 28 Board Meeting Summary
The Metropolitan District Board held its regular meeting on April 28. A majority of the agenda was an update relating to the District’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which included:
- An update on the District’s major program areas and facilities during the Stay-at-Home order and plans to move toward Safer-at-Home.
- An update on the uncertainty and current CDC guidelines for aquatic facilities and summer camps, which includes social distancing, occupancy reductions, and limitations on program components.
- A staffing update regarding the District’s staffing levels.
- A high-level review of the District’s financial situation and the impact of COVID-19. There will be major reductions/eliminations in expenditures including operational supplies, equipment, seasonal staffing and contract services.
Other agenda items included an update on the Ranch House Pool renovation project. The project is not set to be complete until the end of June. The Board passed a motion to remove the use restriction on the District’s $25,000 contribution. The Board will hold a special meeting on May 12 at 6 p.m. to hear an update on the response to COVID-19.
