Safety continues to be first-priority at all Ken-Caryl pools. Please be familiar with all the rules and regulations.
The Ken-Caryl Ranch prioritizes the safety and enjoyment of all patrons at its aquatic facilities. This Guest Behavior Policy, in conjunction with the established Code of Conduct and current pool rules, outlines expectations and procedures for addressing inappropriate behavior.
Definitions
- Child: Any individual under eighteen (18) years of age.
- Adult: Any individual eighteen (18) years of age or older.
Incident Protocol
District Aquatics Staff will adhere to a three-step behavioral intervention process. However, severe infractions may warrant immediate escalation to the “Severe Infraction” protocol at the discretion of the Recreation Director.
All behavioral incidents will be documented using an internal report form. Patrons wishing to submit a witness statement may do so via the provided online link or by scanning the QR code available at the pools.
Adult Violations:
Adults will receive one verbal warning for minor infractions. Subsequent issues will result in immediate progression to the “Severe Infraction” protocol.
Behavior Policy Steps
1. Verbal Warning: Aquatics staff will address the patron (child or adult) regarding their inappropriate behavior. Continued inappropriate behavior will result in further action. For children, continued misbehavior or repeated verbal warnings will result in restricted pool access without parental supervision.
2. Second Report (Child Only): District Aquatics Staff will speak with the child, and a supervisor will contact their parents to report the behavioral concerns. The child’s pool access will subsequently require adult supervision.
3. Third Report or Severe Infraction: Under advisement from the Recreation Director, and pending further investigation, pool access will be temporarily revoked. If the patron is a child, a supervisor will contact parents to inform them of the incident and temporary revocation. For all third reports or severe infractions, a written noticed deemed the “Disciplinary Determination” will be issued to the offending patron within a reasonable timeframe. This determination will detail the scope of privilege revocation, requirements for reinstatement, and the basis for the District’s decision. For comprehensive information regarding revoked privileges, please refer to the Code of Conduct on the Ken-Caryl Ranch website.
The Ken-Caryl Ranch is committed to fostering a safe and enjoyable aquatic environment. Community cooperation is essential to achieving this goal. Please report any unsafe behavior observed at the pools by emailing the Aquatics and Community Supervisor, Kate, at KateM@kcranch.org.
