Fuel Hazard Assessments – Now Open

Ken-Caryl Ranch is now accepting Fuel Hazard Assessment requests, with appointment times currently available through our updated scheduling process designed to:

  • Improve communication
  • Streamline appointment scheduling
  • Maximize time spent on in-field assessments

Due to high demand and limited field capacity, appointments will be scheduled based on availability, and wait times may occur.

Residents can now submit a request and select from available appointment times. This updated process helps us deliver timely, high-quality assessments while continuing to support wildfire preparedness cross the community. Thank you for partnering with us to help keep Ken-Caryl Ranch safe.

Living Next to Open Space

If your property borders open space, you may maintain a 10-foot defensible space buffer.

  • Mow grasses (minimum height 4 inches)
  • Remove dead branches or logs
  • Remove woody vegetation up to 4 inches in diameter
  • Removing vegetation beyond the 10-foot buffer
  • Pruning trees over 4 inches in diameter
  • Dumping or storing materials like branches or grass clippings
  • Installing structures, landscaping, fences or play equipment
