Community Gardening
About this program
Community Gardening
Located next to the Community Center, the Ken-Caryl Ranch Community Garden is a welcoming space where residents can grow fresh produce, cultivate flowers and connect with fellow gardeners.
With 38 individual garden plots available for annual lease, the Community Garden provides opportunities for gardeners of all ages and experience levels to enjoy the rewards of growing their own fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers. Whether you’re a first-time gardener or a seasoned green thumb, the garden offers a supportive environment to learn, share knowledge and build community.
The garden is fully enclosed with fencing designed to help protect plants from wildlife. Community tools, hoses and shared supplies are available on-site, and a shaded gathering area with benches offers a comfortable place to relax, connect with neighbors and enjoy the surrounding views.
Garden Plot Rentals
Garden plots are available annually and may be leased by Jefferson County residents. Because space is limited, plots are offered on a first-come, first-served basis each season.
Registration typically opens in February. When registration is available, details and sign-up information will be posted.
For additional information about garden plots, registration or garden policies, please contact the Community Center.
A Garden for Everyone
The Community Garden is more than a place to grow plants. It is a place to:
- Grow fruits, vegetables, herbs and flowers
- Learn new gardening skills
- Spend time outdoors
- Meet neighbors and build community
- Share knowledge and harvests with fellow gardeners
Gardeners represent a wide range of ages, interests and experience levels, creating a welcoming and collaborative environment throughout the growing season.
Visit the Garden
The Community Garden is open to visitors whenever gardeners are present. For security, the gates remain locked when gardeners are not on site.
We invite you to stop by, explore the garden and see what is growing throughout the season.
Note: if you don’t see this event on the registration site, there are no events of this type currently scheduled. Check back often for new events.
