Parks Maintenance Worker (Horticulture)

Salary: $14-16/hour

The Ken-Caryl Ranch Parks Department is accepting applications for a Parks Maintenance Worker. This is a year-round hourly position. Duties include all aspects of parks maintenance work with an emphasis in horticulture. Experience using best horticultural practices is beneficial. Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Maintenance involving flower and shrub care, assist the Horticultural Technician in diagnosis of pests and diseases in plant materials, safely operate equipment such as pruners, hedge trimmers, tiller, backpack sprayers and water truck. The successful candidate will assist the Horticultural Technician in training seasonal staff, maintaining all existing flower and shrub beds within the parks system and maintaining weed free gardens using both mechanical and chemical techniques. Must be flexible to work nights and weekends and to assist in snow removal activities. Applicants must provide a MVR showing a good driving history before an offer of employment will be made.

Young Explorers After School Teacher

Position: After School Teacher – Nature Based Recreation Program
Salary: $12-13/hour, DOE
Hours: 3-6 p.m. with flexible prep time Monday-Friday

In our Nature Based B&A Recreation Program, elementary school students enjoy science, art, hiking, outdoor exploring, field trips and more! Asst. Preschool Teacher & Substitutes

Salary: $10-13 (DOE)
Hours: 40 hours per week (M-F, 9am-5pm)

At Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District Preschool Programs our goal is to bring joy and discovery to early-childhood education. We are currently looking for an Assistant Teacher and substitutes who can help to create a fun environment and incorporate educational programs that assist in our children’s development. The Assistant Preschool Teacher will be responsible for monitoring and teaching the children in our program, supporting the teacher in set-up, implanting planned activities and learning experiences, and partnering with our team to enhance the learning environment at our school.

After School Site Coordinator

Salary: $14-15/hour, DOE
Hours: 3:00 – 6:00pm plus flexible prep time. Additional morning shifts available from 7am – 9am.
Location: Ranch House

Salary: $12-13/hour, DOE
Hours: 3:00 – 6:00 pm with flexible prep time.
Schedule is flexible, work 2 – 5 days per week mornings and/or afternoons.

Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association Employment Opportunities

Seasonal Park Ranger

Salary: $12-14/hour, DOE
Seasonal: May 1 – August 31, 2018
Hours: Friday-Tuesday, 40 hours/week, 16-week term

Position Summary:
50% – Under supervision of Open Space Manager and direct supervision of Park Ranger I, responsible for community patrol, surveillance and protection of native open space, parks and recreation facilities. This is not a law-enforcement position; however, rangers enforce local open space and parks rules & regulations. Where problems arise outside the scope of his/her abilities and jurisdiction, candidate will call in and work with local law-enforcement agencies.

50% – Under supervision of the Park Ranger I, performs natural resource management on Ken-Caryl Ranch’s 4000+ acre native open space.

Seasonal: May 1 – November 30, 2018
Hours: Friday – Tuesday, 40 hours/week, 28-week term

Position Summary:

Hours: Wednesday-Saturday, 7-5:30, 40 hours/week, 20-week term

Specific Duties:
• Mowing and trimming operations and maintenance.
• Sign installation, repair, and maintenance.
• Building structure repairs and maintenance.
• Fence installation and repair.
