Dakota Lodge Front Desk Staff

Position: Dakota Lodge Front Desk Staff- Rentals and Meetings
Salary: $10.20 – $12/hour
Front Desk: weekday evenings 5:30pm – 10:00pm and weekends 7:00am – 10:00pm when rentals are booked. Schedule is very flexible, 10-32 hours a week.

Dakota Lodge Front Desk Overview:
Dakota Lodge is a rentable facility that hosts parties, weddings, community groups, meetings, events, and registered classes. The Visitor Center at Dakota Lodge provides the community with wildlife brochures, KCR Open Space maps and bracelets, rentals for Dakota Lodge and Bradford Fire Pit, and registrations for KCR programs. Summer Camp Counselor

Salary: $11 – $13/hour DOE
Dates: May 21 – August 10, 2017 (includes 1 week of staff training)
Time Commitment: Up to 40 hours/week, Monday – Friday

Enjoy all of the laughter and thrills of summer camp while working in a fun, organized and supportive environment. Our goal is simple: hire the best camp staff and create a place where we all love to work and play. Experience the difference by joining our dedicated, fun-loving team and having a significant influence in the lives of children. Our recreation and nature-themed summer camps provide fun and exciting summer experiences for school aged children.

Children 5-12 years of age enjoy active games, science, art, cooking, field trips and more! Weekly schedules could include swimming, tennis lessons, nature walks, and field trips to local and metro-area attractions, including zoos, water parks, etc. School Age camp locations are at the Ranch House (recreation based camp) and the Dakota Lodge (nature based camp), all located within Ken-Caryl .

• Work as a team with other staff to lead large group games and activities.
• Ensure safety of all participants.
• Supervise students on field trips.
• Attend staff training prior to the start of camp and staff meetings.

Teacher and Assistant Teacher – Preschool-Age Summer Camps

Seasonal Parks Worker

Salary: $11/hour
Dates: May – August
Schedule: Mon-Thurs 7:00-4:30, Fri 7:00-11:00

The Parks Department maintains 120 acres of parks and greenbelts on Ken-Caryl Ranch. Seasonal Park Workers assist full-time staff during the summer months in all aspects of landscape maintenance. Qualified applicants will be placed on specific crews within the department.

Specific Duties
•Mowing and Trimming Parks
•Irrigation maintenance
•Tree and plant care
•Athletic field maintenance
•Fence and sign painting and repair

Length of Season
•A limited number of positions are available in Irrigation, Horticulture and Turf from mid-April through September.
•All other positions in Preventive Maintenance, Irrigation, Turf and Horticulture are available from mid-May through August.

Parks Maintenance Worker (Horticulture)

Salary: $14-16/hour

The Ken-Caryl Ranch Parks Department is accepting applications for a Parks Maintenance Worker. This is a year-round hourly position. Duties include all aspects of parks maintenance work with an emphasis in horticulture. Experience using best horticultural practices is beneficial. Duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: Maintenance involving flower and shrub care, assist the Horticultural Technician in diagnosis of pests and diseases in plant materials, safely operate equipment such as pruners, hedge trimmers, tiller, backpack sprayers and water truck. The successful candidate will assist the Horticultural Technician in training seasonal staff, maintaining all existing flower and shrub beds within the parks system and maintaining weed free gardens using both mechanical and chemical techniques. Must be flexible to work nights and weekends and to assist in snow removal activities. Applicants must provide a MVR showing a good driving history before an offer of employment will be made.

Asst. Preschool Teacher & Substitutes

At Ken-Caryl Ranch Metropolitan District Preschool Programs our goal is to bring joy and discovery to early-childhood education. We are currently looking for an Assistant Teacher and substitutes who can help to create a fun environment and incorporate educational programs that assist in our children’s development. The Assistant Preschool Teacher will be responsible for monitoring and teaching the children in our program, supporting the teacher in set-up, implanting planned activities and learning experiences, and partnering with our team to enhance the learning environment at our school.

Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association Employment Opportunities

Seasonal Park Ranger

Salary: $12-14/hour, DOE
Seasonal: May 1 – August 31, 2018
Hours: Friday-Tuesday, 40 hours/week, 16-week term

Position Summary:
50% – Under supervision of Open Space Manager and direct supervision of Park Ranger I, responsible for community patrol, surveillance and protection of native open space, parks and recreation facilities. This is not a law-enforcement position; however, rangers enforce local open space and parks rules & regulations. Where problems arise outside the scope of his/her abilities and jurisdiction, candidate will call in and work with local law-enforcement agencies.

50% – Under supervision of the Park Ranger I, performs natural resource management on Ken-Caryl Ranch’s 4000+ acre native open space.

• Building structure repairs and maintenance.
