2022 Holiday Toy Drive

The holidays are right around the corner, and it’s full steam ahead for the organizers of the Denver Santa Claus Shop, as they plan on keeping with tradition and their mission of “A Toy for Every Girl & Boy”, with a toy drive this holiday season! Ken-Caryl residents and realtors Brian Lee, Greg Milano, Amy Bassett and Tara Byrnes of Colorado Home Realty are coordinating a toy drive with Ken-Caryl Ranch, Nov. 9 – Dec. 7. The concept is to provide free, new toys to children ages newborn to 11 years who might not otherwise have gifts to open at Christmas. Donations will be accepted during normal business hours at the Community Center and the Ranch House. Please note that the Ranch House is closed on Fridays.

This year, donations will also be accepted at Brian Lee’s home, located at 2 Golden Aster; Greg Milano’s home, located at 2 Coyote Lane in the North Ranch; Amy Bassett’s home, located at 10 Golden Aster; and Tara Byrnes home at 7 Mountain High Court.

Christmas Tree Sale at Dakota Lodge

KCR Christmas Tree Sale, Dec. 3: Reservations Required; Register Beginning Nov. 15 at 8 a.m.

Get into the holiday spirit with a fresh cut Christmas tree! The annual Christmas Tree Sale will be held at the Dakota Lodge on Saturday, Dec. 3 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. A simple reservation system will be used again this year so that everyone can skip the line and enjoy a peaceful Christmas tree experience!

Reservations will be available in 30-minute timeslots. There will be 30 openings for each 30-minute timeslot to provide easier parking and a stress-free space for you and your family to choose your tree.

Rangers will bring out a limited amount of trees, so each timeslot will have a good selection of recently cut Douglas Firs. Unlike the trees found in Christmas tree sale lots, these trees are more “natural” in shape, but they will fill your home with traditional Christmas spirit!

Reservations are required; we will not be able to accept walk-ins at the event. Registration is now closed.

Rangers are accepting donations (cash, check or credit card) in exchange for the trees to offset expenses in the open space program. Limit one tree per family to ensure many families can enjoy this great tradition.

For the annual tree sale, the Rangers harvest small diameter trees in the open space to improve wildlife habitat and overall forest health. The removal of the small trees reduces overcrowding and eliminates ladder fuels that can carry fire into a forest canopy. Trees that don’t find a home are chipped and made into mulch.

Residents do not have to register to collect tree boughs. There will be a large pile by the end of the barn near the canopy the day of the sale. Residents can visit any time and take some home.

Many thanks to our generous sponsors, residents and realtors Brian Lee, Greg Milano, Amy Bassett, Tara Byrnes and Mike Aden for their generous sponsorship of this event! The team, with Colorado Home Realty, will be providing hot refreshments and donuts for attendees!

If you have any questions about the Christmas tree sale, contact the Rangers at 303-979-1876, ext. 170, or email Matt Oven at matto@kcranch.org.

This year, will will also be offering residents the ability to cut their own Christmas trees in designated areas of our open space! The Cut Your Own Tree pilot project is separate from the Christmas Tree Sale. More details on the Open Space page.
