Resident Author Mark Hanson Discusses His New Book, "Tarryall Gold: From Rush to Hush" on July 24
On July 19, 1859, fourteen men ventured from the crowded goldfields of Colorado’s front range into the uncharted interior of South Park basin. Just below the Continental Divide they dipped their pans into the swirling waters of Tarryall Creek. What they discovered triggered a massive stampede into Central Colorado’s Tarryall Valley and across Boreas Pass into Breckenridge and the Blue River. Legions of fortune seekers soon set their faces to the west. What challenges would they face? How would they find their way?
Join us for an evening of storytelling, history and community as resident and author Mark Hanson shares insights from his new book, “Tarryall Gold: From Rush to Hush,” and brings to life the triumphs and trials of early fortune seekers. This event will be held on July 24 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the Ranch House. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
This event is free and open to all residents, no reservations required. Books will be available for purchase following the presentation.
