The Ken-Caryl Ranch Historical Society invites you to an Open House at the Bradford-Perley House, located on Killdeer Lane in the North Ranch, on June 6 from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m.

Did you know that the Bradford-Perley House is a historic site dating back to the start of the Colorado gold rush in 1860? Over the years, it has served as a home, farm, rest stop, American Civil War recruiting post and entertainment center.

Unearth more fun and fascinating facts about our community’s rich history at the Historical Society’s Open House! Follow the path from the red rocks to the Bradford-Perley House, where members of the Ken-Caryl Historical Society—wearing gold name badges—will greet you and be happy to answer your questions.

Resident archaeologist Jack Warner will be at the nearby Bradford II site, located next to the red rocks and opposite the entrance to the Bradford Pool. Jack will share insights into the area’s history dating back 9,000 years, when the earliest people first arrived.

During your visit, be sure to try your hand at throwing an atlatl—an ancient handheld spear—explore the historic apple orchard with trees dating back to the 1860s, and enjoy the gardens near the house, lovingly tended by resident gardeners.
