Understanding of Expectations: I understand the duties, responsibilities, and ethical guidelines outlined in the document and my obligation to abide by them in my role as a volunteer. Commitment to Compliance: I agree to uphold the duties of due care, loyalty, compliance, respect, and ethical behavior as described in the document, and I will carry out my volunteer role with professionalism and integrity. Acknowledgment of Policies: I understand and agree to comply with the policies regarding conflicts of interest, the code of ethics, email communication, and any specific duties relevant to my role as a volunteer. Release of Liability: I understand that I am providing my services as a volunteer at my own risk and release the Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association, Inc. from any liability for injuries or damages sustained while performing my volunteer duties, except in cases of gross negligence or willful misconduct by the Association. Consequences for Non-Compliance: I understand that failure to adhere to the standards and guidelines outlined in the document may result in my removal as a volunteer of KCRMA. Volunteer Patroller Commitment Please review and acknowledge the following: Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association Private Open Space Volunteer Patroller Letter of Commitment By participating as a Volunteer Patroller, I agree to the following: I will complete a minimum of 6 patrols OR 6 hours of patrol during the Spring/Summer/Fall season (generally April through September). I will identify myself as a Ken-Caryl Ranch Volunteer Patroller and display my ID and volunteer vest (bike patrol must also display a bike placard) while on patrol. I will assist only the Ken-Caryl Ranch Park Ranger staff and not any other agency while acting as a POSVP. I will only perform patrol duties in open space, parks, or trails and not in conjunction with other volunteer programs unless approved by a ranger supervisor. I will wear my patroller vest, ID tag, and bike placard (if applicable), and I will accurately log patrol data in the provided Google Sheet. I will not bring pets while on patrol due to safety concerns. I agree to follow all direction from ranger staff and adhere to patrol standards provided in training. I will not have any Ken-Caryl Ranch Rules Violations that conflict with patrol standards. I understand the Ranger Staff will organize projects, provide patrol information, and supply necessary materials and uniforms. I understand my patroller status may be revoked for violations. I agree to return all issued items if I resign or am removed. I have read and agree to the Volunteer Patroller Letter of Commitment. Waiver and Release of Liability Please review and acknowledge the following: Volunteer Waiver, Release of Liability & Assumption of Risk Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association Adult Volunteer Waiver Parties This Waiver and Release of Liability ("Agreement") is entered into between the undersigned volunteer ("Volunteer") and Ken-Caryl Ranch Master Association, a Colorado nonprofit corporation ("KCRMA"). Voluntary Participation I understand that my participation in volunteer activities for KCRMA is voluntary and unpaid, and that I am not an employee or agent of KCRMA. I may discontinue participation at any time. Description of Activities Activities may include, but are not limited to: Trail system maintenance and repair Vegetation clearance, weed mitigation, and fire mitigation Patrolling private trail systems for trespassing Use of hand tools and power tools Outdoor manual labor in undeveloped or semi-developed areas Assumption of Risk I understand that the Activities involve inherent risks, including but not limited to: Uneven, rocky, steep, or unstable terrain Slips, trips, falls, and falling objects Exposure to weather conditions including heat, cold, wind, rain, snow, and lightning Use of hand tools and power tools Physical exertion, lifting, bending, and repetitive motion Exposure to wildlife, insects, plants, and environmental hazards Interaction with members of the public Delayed access to emergency or medical services I knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks, both known and unknown, associated with my participation. Release of Liability (Negligence Included) To the fullest extent permitted by Colorado law, I release, waive, and discharge KCRMA, its directors, officers, employees, agents, volunteers, contractors, and representatives from any and all claims, including those arising from negligence, resulting from my participation. This release does not apply to claims arising from willful or wanton misconduct. Indemnification I agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless KCRMA from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including attorney fees) arising out of my actions or omissions during the Activities. Medical Responsibility I understand that KCRMA does not provide medical insurance for volunteers. I am responsible for my own medical care and certify that I am physically capable of participating. Safety Rules I agree to follow all safety instructions, use required personal protective equipment, and report unsafe conditions or injuries immediately. Governing Law & Venue This Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, with venue in Jefferson County District Court. Acknowledgment I acknowledge that I have read and understand this Agreement and that I am giving up substantial legal rights, including the right to sue. I sign this Agreement voluntarily.
