The Ken-Caryl Ranch Historical Society invites you to an Open House at the Bradford-Perley House on June 28 from 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.
Did you know that the Bradford-Perley House is a historic site dating to the start of the Colorado gold rush in 1860 and was used as a home, farm, rest stop, American Civil War recruiting post and entertainment center?
Unearth more fun and interesting facts about our community’s rich history at the Historical Society’s Open House, on June 28.
The event will take place at the Bradford- Perley House located on Killdeer Lane in the North Ranch.
Follow the path from the red rocks to the house. Members of the Ken-Caryl Historical Society, who will be wearing gold name badges, will greet you and be glad to answer your questions.
Resident archaeologist Jack Warner will be at the Bradford II site, which is next to the red rocks, opposite the entrance to the Bradford pool. Jack will discuss the history of the area dating back 9,000 years ago, when the earliest people came to this area.
During your visit, make sure to visit the apple orchard, which has trees dating back to the 1860s and admire the gardens near the house that are tended by resident gardeners. The beautiful flowers should be at their peak in late June.
In the event of bad weather, a rain date of July 12 is planned.
