2026 Summer Teen Camps

Teen camps meet at the Ranch House and utilize our 14-passenger mini-bus to go on daily excursions! Fees and ages vary depending on the weekly theme. Daily camp hours are 9:00am to 3:00pm. Weekly newsletters are sent out to all participants with details on excursion locations, schedule, what to bring, etc.

Registration Phases

  • Feb. 3 at 9 a.m. → Opens for current Before & After Care Premier families only

  • Feb. 10 at 9 a.m. → Opens for District Residents

  • Feb. 17 at 9 a.m. → Opens to All (Resident & Non-Resident)

Cancellation & Waitlist Information

  • Cancellation deadline: 3 weeks prior to program start

  • Cancellations must be made in writing to recreation@kcranch.org.

  • Waitlists will be reviewed as cancellations are received.

LEADERSHIP CAMP: ENVIRONMENTAL NEEDS

Ages: rising 6th-10th grade

Dates: June 8-12

Meet new friends, develop leadership skills, and have fun while helping in the community. This camp is focused on environmental needs. We will complete service projects at sites like local and state parks, animal shelters, community gardens, or nature centers (specific service sites TBD). We plan to enjoy a fun field trip day at the end of the week as well!

Fees:

  • Resident: $220
  • Non-Resident: $264

TASTE FOR ADRENALINE

Ages: rising 6th-9th grade

Dates: June 16-18 (Tue-Thu)

Join us for a three-day adventure camp full of high adrenaline activities in the great outdoors like early season white water rafting, a zipline tour, and a trapeze class and hiking in the mountains! This is the perfect experience for those who want a taste of what thrills our great outdoors have to offer! (activities are subject to change)

Fees:

  • Resident: $345
  • Non-Resident: $414

LEADERSHIP CAMP: HUMAN NEEDS

Ages: rising 6th-10th grade

Dates: July 6-10

Meet new friends, develop leadership skills and have fun while helping out in the community! This camp is focused on human needs. We will volunteer our skills and time at senior centers, food banks, homeless shelters, or with families in need (specific service sites TBD). We plan to enjoy a fun field trip day at the end of the week as well!

Fees:

  • Resident: $220
  • Non-Resident: $264

TASTE FOR ADVENTURE

Ages: rising 6th-9th grade

Dates: June 29-July 1 (Mon-Wed)

Join us for another three-day adventure camp full of learning and playing outside while we partake in white water rafting, rock climbing, and hiking in the mountains! This is the perfect experience for those who want a taste of what our great outdoors have to offer or want to add to their ‘Taste for Adrenaline’ camp experience! (activities are subject to change)

Fees:

  • Resident: $290
  • Non-Resident: $348

ROCK ON! CLIMBING CAMP

Ages: rising 6th-9th grade

Dates: June 22-26 & July 13-17 (Two separate 1-week sessions)

Have you ever seen rock climbers scaling cliffs and rock faces and wished you could be doing that? Do you love to be outside and try new, daring adventures? Learn the ropes, literally, and develop new skills that build on each other throughout the week. Front Range Climbing Company, along with our experienced staff, will teach you about gear, knot tying, belaying, rappelling, anchors, and climbing techniques. You’ll go out on rock climbing adventures at various locations throughout the Front Range.

Fees:

  • Resident: $370
  • Non-Resident: $444

COUNSELOR-IN-TRAINING CAMP (CIT)

Ages: rising 7th-10th grade

Dates: July 20-31 (Two separate 1-week sessions)

Do you like working with a team, being a role model for kids and having a blast while doing it? Then Counselor-In-Training Camp is perfect for you! You will gain experience in teamwork and leadership techniques, leading group activities, and assisting counselors with program operation. Develop your leadership skills as you help the Summer Camp staff each day.

Fees:

  • Resident: $150
  • Non-Resident: $180

Additional Teen Programs

BABYSITTING CLINIC

Ages: 11 & Older

Time: 9 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Date night is calling, so sign your tween/teen up for our latest Babysitting Class! This course is designed to help prepare participants for those first babysitting opportunities. Basic child care such as routine child care duties (feeding, bathing and diapering) will be covered. Participants will also learn basic child development and be able to provide activities for the developmental stages. Home and fire safety, and the prevention and treatment of common injuries, will also be covered.

AFTER SCHOOL COOKING CLUB

Ages: 9-14 years

Time: 4:15 – 5:15 p.m.

IT’S THYME TO TURNIP THE BEET ON WHAT KIDS EAT! Join Sticky Fingers NextGen Chefs for a ‘COOL’inary cooking club that will make cooking fun and deliciously educational. Kids will enjoy tasty, healthy recipes while learning S.T.E.A.M., culture, language, geography and more. Led by experienced Chef Instructors, we ensure all allergies are accommodated, and recipes are always nut-free. Let your young chefs discover the joy of cooking and whip up some culinary fun!

FLY FISHING 101 AND 201

Grades: 6th – 12th

Dates: April 2 & 9 (Fly Fishing 101), April 11 (Fly Fishing 201)

Time: 4:30 – 5:30 p.m. (Fly Fishing 101), 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Fly Fishing 201)

Do you have a teen who’s curious about fly fishing? We’d love to welcome them to a hands-on introduction to the art of the sport! Throughout the program, participants will take a close look at the insects that live in our river systems, practice casting a fly rod, and learn the essential gear and knots needed to get started. The program is geared toward teens with little to no prior experience, but all skill levels are welcome.
By participating in Fly FIshing 101, you will also be eligible to join the Fishing 201 program where you get to spend your morning learning, exploring, and fishing alongside our experienced instructor!
Please note that participants will need to bring their own fly rod and fly line. If you do sign up for Fly Fishing 201, you will also need a valid Colorado fishing licensel. All other materials will be provided.
